Princess Margaret – A Life of Contrasts (Audio Book)

Christopher Warwick Estate

Christopher Warwick is a writer, biographer, speaker and broadcaster, who regularly takes part in television and radio programmes. His books include best-selling authorized biographies of Princess Margaret and Sir Peter Ustinov. His study, Ella, Princess Saint & Martyr, the definitive life of Grand Duchess Elisabeth Feodorovna of Russia, was released in paperback and e-book format as The Life and Death of ELLA Grand Duchess of Russia – A Romanov Tragedy. Following publication of Ella, Christopher undertook a privately commissioned history of the Throckmorton family of Coughton Court, Warwickshire; and subsequently worked as author and historical consultant on Her Majesty, a lavish art book from international publisher, Taschen.   His most recent book is a new edition of George and Marina: Duke and Duchess of Kent.

In addition to his work as a royal biographer and writer, television, together with national as well as regional radio, have played a major part in Christopher Warwick’s career since his very earliest guest appearances on popular UK talk shows such as Good Morning Britain and Richard and Judy. As an authoritative voice he has regularly been invited to comment on topical royal issues for broadcasters including BBC NewsITV, Channel 4 News and Sky; True Royalty TV/The Royal Beat, for BBC World ServiceBBC 5 Live, and regional radio stations.

As a freelance royal commentator for UK and North American  news broadcasters, Christopher has provided analysis and commentary for a range of royal events including The Queen's Golden- and Diamond Jubilees, Her Majesty's 90th birthday, the deaths of Princess Margaret and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the weddings of The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex; the birth of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, and their subsequent move to the United States. He also provided interviews covering the  death and ceremonial funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh that were aired internationally, from the UK and North America to Russia.

For many years, television documentaries have played a prominent part in Christopher Warwick’s career. Among  those he has taken part was the BBC two-parter Princess Margaret – The Rebel Royal, on which he acted both as consultant and contributor.  First shown to a UK audience of 4.8 million viewers, it was also released by the BBC as a DVD and was short-listed for the Grierson Award in the Best Entertaining Documentary category.
