Dr George Drower is a writer and historian. He is an expert on overseas territories and the author of the Overseas Territories Handbook. He has also written biographies of Neil Kinnock and John Hume.
His books include Gardeners, Gurus and Grubs: The Stories of Garden Inventors and Innovations, Garden Heroes and Villains, Boats, Boffins and Bowlines: The Stories of Sailing Inventors and Innovations and Heligoland: The True Story of German Bight and the Island Britain Forgot.
George’s most recent published books are A History of Gardening in 50 Objects and Sails, Skippers and Sextants: A History of Sailing in 50 Inventors and Innovations for The History Press.
He has contributed to The Times, The Sunday Times, Traditional Homes and House & Garden.
