Helen Armitage

Helen Armitage is a writer and book editor with an MA in Screenwriting and Screen Research.   She has ghosted a number of books. Her lifelong interest in natural history led to her writing Lady of the Loch – The Incredible Story of Britain’s Oldest Osprey (Constable, 2011)

In 2014,  under the name of Sammy Looker,  Helen compiled Something Nasty in the Slushpile. In this entertaining tour through the dos and dont’s of book ideas sent to publishers, including many examples of comical, misguided and plain weird approaches, ‘Sammy’ advises on how best to secure that elusive publishing deal.
